The baritone shape is my own design balancing the need of a larger body but still maintaining a comfortable playing instrument. The unique bracing allows for a true bass instrument that still sings on the higher strings. Unlike commercially available instruments I use a 720mm scale length and custom string gauges from 17-75 with a wound 2nd string.
The guitar is tuned as a standard guitar but in B, it also works superbly in a DADGAD tuning which puts it into the key of A. The extra scale length and thicker strings allow my baritone to take on a true voice of a lower register instrument whilst maintaining melodic clarity on the higher strings.
